Hey there!  I’m Kati, and I am terrible at introductions; both online and in person.  If we were meeting for the first time, I’d shake your hand and tell you that I like your hat.  Most likely, I would tell you a random or slightly awkward story about my family, or our crazy dog.  Listening to you talk I would forget your name and have to ask you again.  Then, I would give you a hug like we have been friends for years.  Luckily, I never forget a face.

I was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, from a family of makers and fixers who have lived in the same zip code for five generations.  I love seeing new places and I am always up for a camping adventure, but this place will forever have my heart.  Painting from my studio, in our 100 year old home that has amazing natural light and is somewhat magical, allows me to spend time with my husband and our four children.

Flowers have always been fascinating to me.  It’s not just about the flowers, but the stories they tell.  Bouquets of flowers celebrate moments in life that are meant to be remembered.  When I paint, I imagine a man gathering wildflowers for a first date to a girl that will one day become his wife or a vase of pink roses for a mother who just delivered a baby girl. With these stories in my mind, I hope to create art that feels nostalgic, as well as timeless enough to pass on to your grandchildren.

God writes the Gospel not in the Bible alone, but on trees and flowers and clouds and stars.
